My evergreen honeysuckle is lush and green all winter and spring and then in early summer, once it has flowered, it loses approximately 75 per cent of its leaves and looks pretty sad and bare until autumn - help! - what's causing this and what can i do?

Evergreens aren't evergreen with the same leaves - they do shed their old ones but not in the autumn and not all of them at once. This might be all that's happening.
