I have recently started cutting my cotoneaster down as it was looking rather sad. My question is as soon as I touched it there were loads of black flies appeared. Can anyone tell me what they are and will there be a nest somewhere. There is too many just to call them houseflies,

I was just wondering whether it had been infested with cotoneaster Webber moth, but doesn't sound like it, no idea if it's not that, sorry
