I have just started growing red peppers my peppers are large green ones on the plant do I wait till they turn red or take then out now and put them on the window till they turn red or leave them outside in the garden till they turn red

you can leave them on the plant to ripen. or pick a few green ones. they are only unripe ones in the supermarkets as well. I don't find they ripen very well off the plant, not like toms.
