White plume moth

Thanks Worthy, I'll google it. I thought it was a moth of some sort, it flew like a fairy lol. Had to catch it in a glass and put it outside:-)

Now look here bloomer and Louisa ....even I know a daddy long legs when I see one lol ...and I wouldn't be standing so close to it either:-)
Thanks Urbanite, these two think I'm barmy lol:-))

Turning into an entomologist , Ba ?

Hi Bloomer 8~p :-)) Yes Driad, I've put a caterpillar question on today too:-))

Is that expletive within the site guidelines?? :o)

One more reason to keep the windows closed if you ask me. Can't be doing with things flitting about after the lights.
24 Aug, 2013
Must admit that due to my horror of the things I didn't look too closely!lol Still wouldn't want it flitting around my room whatever it is!

Years ago, when I was terrified of them, one landed on the curtains..above a table where my mum had prepared a buffet supper for visiting relatives..She stood on the end to try and catch it,forgetting she had pulled out the leaves at either end to accommodate all the food..I'm sure you can guess the rest, and I was in deep trouble for it all sliding on to the floor ! :o)

Lol Sandra, I have been known to run shrieking from the table at the pub quiz, daddy long legs or moth can do it if I'm not prepared. Oh and yes Bloomer it is:-))

Are this and the caterpillar typical of the wildlife in your garden?
24 Aug, 2013
Get a grip , Urbanite , some are very useful .
I must admit that I used to have terrors of flying , buzzy things , but living in the tropics sorted that ..... almost .
25 Aug, 2013
Yes Urbanite, quite typical, but it's the tigers in the undergrowth that I'm wary of:-))

Try not to sleep with your mouth open!
26 Aug, 2013
Lol Snowie, may need a mask, mouth always open:-))

You do realise that having one of the White Plume moths could put a slur on your gardening? The caterpillars feed and hibernate on Bindweed, so somewhere in your garden perhaps you have not been owning up to a patch of it!!

How very dare you! I do have flippin' snowberry creeping under my fence from next doors garden, almost impossible to get rid of and, to add insult to injury, horrible wild blackberries coming under and over the fence. Now look what you've done, made me feel besieged ....think I'll move house and it's your fault:-)
2 Sep, 2019
Ah Snowberry! Another plant that wants to take over the world. Just think the wild blackberries can be eaten, by you or the birds. As for moving house, better the devil you know than one you could inherit, I think. No offence intended and none taken I hope.

Lol honeysuckle, I've never taken offence in my life:-)

You had me worried there for a while, I've never meant to upset anyone by a mis-timed remark, so apologies to anyone who might have read one of my remarks that came out 'wrong'.
5 Sep, 2019
Never worry about upsetting me, I suppose many of my remarks could be taken the wrong way lol. If you look at some old blogs of mine and other old members on here you'll see that many of them are nonsense and gibberish which got us through the winter:-))
