Can anyone identify this which is growing quite healthily on my ten year old camellia? This is the first one I have noticed.

Definitely a seed pod. We see them often on the Camellias at Bodnant Garden. When they are ripe and split open you can sow the seeds and you never know you may get a nice new variety.........in 5 to 7 years time!
