Thank you Myron for answering my question re the caterpillars on my outdoor tomatoes. So much appreciated. We have a very long front garden, for lawn and flowers, but only a small patio garden at the back, so, no room for a greenhouse. I have grown tomatoes outdoors for many years with no problems, so this is a "first". I have picked some of the largest unaffected toms this evening and placed them with a banana to speed ripening on a sunny windowsill and squishy squashed the caterpillars underfoot. Will continue to gently shake the plants as you suggest to remove any more hidden little pests!
