Wallflower advice,
Hello, in all my years of gardening i have never grown wallflowers, but today have brought a few trays to plant out on the allotment as well as in large containers, just a few of points i need help on, will these do as well as the bare rooted plants ? and do they need protection from slugs/pigeons and should i pinch them now to encourage side shoots ? thanks julien.

Hi Julien. I have been growing Wallflowers for 2 years now, so am not an expert. From my observations they are perennial, like well drained soil (hence they like soil near walls). flower very well in late spring through to summer, and self seed. Not seen any pests on them (maybe the odd bite but nothing to note). I would not pinch out until they are a few years old. Seem tough as the proverbial.
