Unknown plant.

Not very good photos, but I saw this plant at a National Trust garden yesterday and I'd love to know what it is. It grows quite close to the ground, ambles through other plants and obviously spreads widely. Any ideas, please?

Thanks, Denise - I don't think so, but it was a good thought. :-) Pity nobody seems to recognise it - I wouldn't mind having it in my garden.
