When shall I start off my potatoes " in sacks " and how many potatoes in each sack ? .Did them last year but cant remember when I did them and how many I put in [ think 4 in each ]

I would hold on for a while yet Pammie until all chance of frost has past. Usually for me here in Nottinghamshire it's around the end of March time. As for how many per sack that all depends on how big your sacks are. I would guess that four potatoes per sack might be a little to many!

Agree with Ian - rather depends on the size of sack (and also the size of potatos - Kind Edwards v. Jerseys?!) but I'd say 4 is too may - potatos are big, thirsty plants. Personally, I think just one per sack would be the max - two at most.
