Hello all - hope you can help. A friend of mine has a pyracantha shrub he would like to uproot and move if possible. What is the best time of year to do so? Many thanks.

At that age I think your friend is going to have a challenge moving, why don't you send a pm to Bamboo and ask her advice.

It should not be a problem to move, have moved much larger specimens in the past, if you dig a good girth round the plant and dig deep on an angle then you will get a good root system, prepare a good hole and add plenty of decent compost and keep watered innitially, myself i have done them this time of year with good effect tell him to wear some gloves as the thorns can be lethal.
