Thanks for your answers to my question. I was afraid that I would have to lose next years flowers if I pruned my rhody, but to hell, here goes out with the pruners short time pain for long time gain! Noreen.

You could try leaving three or four branches to flower and cut them off after flowering if you don't want to miss out completely this year.
