my personal gardener (he he he) is attempting his first box topiary and wonders whether he should be feeding the pig in a pot, any suggestions appreciated thankyou.

Well in that case pigs eat anything do they not? LOL. Seriously though, apply a liquid feed during summer. Top dress established container grown plants in spring with fresh compost and a little slow-release fertiliser or blood, fish and bone.
