I have a couple of twisted bay trees in urn type pots where its impossible to remove and replace any compost because the roots are so compacted, I've been feeding them with seaweed fertiliser . Does anyone think they need more and do I just feed in the growing season ?. Thank-you Roythefoot

Hi Roy, it sounds as though they need larger pots, unfortunately you will never get them out of those pots without breaking them, whenever you buy pots, always make sure that the neck is either wider than the middle, or at least as wide, although they look very nice, they're not really made for permanent planting, more for seasonal planting, which you swap over before the roots get too big, Derek.

this will be ok. but take care they don't freeze in the pots.
