Hi all, I'm fairly new to veg, (4 years according to my 4 bed rotation). Having cast my eye over my sweetcorn I notice that the tassles inside are quite damp and I am 1 to 2 inch away from the top regarding fully developed corns. The ones that are developed are milky. Should I harvest now or bide my time???

Magic, I will do. Pretty poor harvest really. Only one cob per plant and not very tall or bushy. I used chicken pellets prior to planting out, I think they got checked early on

As with maize and the farmers it didn't have a good start in the spring , but it does need a lot of manure initially .

Cheers Roy, this is a bed that I regard as neutral as it borders the patch. Rotation doesn't affect it although the soil is quite fertile. Your right though,, rubbish spring!

Yes they are positioned in a rectangular block, I think it may simply be down to my own selfish eagerness to plant them out too early! This season has been a complete wash out for my onions too! Bad spring!
