Hi,
I want to plant some herbs and lettuce in a garden and soil where I had a cherry tree and some narcissis bulbs. I have pulled everything out, but i want to make sure the soil is safe for veggies.
Thanks,
concerned gardener

Thank you for your reply. What if I want to plant some chrysanthemums and sedum in the same bed as the vegetables?

Same answer - old cottage gardens in this country used to mix flowers and veg all the time. In fact during WW2 I can remember parks having their flower beds edged with beetroot - useful and decorative at the same time. Carrots make a pretty edging too, if you have fine sandy soil.I can't think of anything that actually poisons the soil. Stop worrying and enjoy!

No reason why not. Cherry is harmless and narcissus only poisonous if you actually eat the bulbs.
