Is there a treatment to apply on a lawn that has mushroom type fungus growing on it?

Time will do it. They don 't last long and as they are only the fruiting body of the main plant which stays underground weedkillers won't touch them. They will probably reappear each year until whatever they are growing on has rotted away.

As the last 2 answers said, they won't harm the lawn and will disappear in time. Also, if you have fungi growing in your lawn, then this is usually a sign of a healthy lawn, so don't worry.

I'm curious - you haven't said 'toadstools' or 'mushrooms', you've said a mushroom-type fungus. Are they toadstools or mushrooms, or something else that makes you think of fungi?

Many thanks to all who responded and for your advice. I'm not able to distinguish between mushrooms and toadstools but so many have appeared in the last few days there is not mush room left on the lawn. Thought that as there does not seem to be too much I can do about it we could at least have a laugh (the old ones are the best).

Lol, I was just checking it wasn't some other fungal condition - nothing to worry about, you can twist them off if you don't like the look of them, they'll pass anyway.

not that i know of. but they aren't doing any harm and will go within a week, if you don't like them then put gloves on and gently remove them from your lawn.
