best evergreen climbing plants to cover wall

Answers

This depends on whether it's your house wall, or one in your garden, guest, as well as which direction the wall faces - is it in sun or shade?

There are lovely variegated ivies - but NOT on a house wall. They grow in sun or shade - happy in shade!

Hydrangea seemannii is self-clinging and will take some shade. Pileostegia viburnoides is also self-clinging, but it's a slow grower - for shade.

Evergreen Clematis would need trellis or wires - these flower in the winter and early spring - C. armandii, C. cirrhosa 'Freckles', 'Wisley Cream', 'Balearica' and 'Lansdowne Gem'. All prefer some sun and shade at their roots.

Eccremocarpus, Lapageria and Solanum crispum must have a warm sheltered position.

I hope you'll find something in this list to suit you.

And euonymus fortunei varieties. 'Silver Queen' and 'Emerald Gaiety' are particularly good
