It does to me - for rip read rid! The only way I found is to keep a look out and dig up every bit you see as it emerges, and dig deep when you do. It took me three years. It seems to be able to travel quite a long way underground before popping up somewhere else.

I don't think so - probably smacks more of desperation!

I think once you've got it, you have it forever but not a major problem. I just dig up unwanted plants and try and clip the flowers off the mature ones before they seed around.

It's very simple Seaburngirl. The question was, how do you rip off a soft acacia? LOL

The best way to start is by not digging any of it up, this just propagates it by inadvertent root cuttings. Try spraying with glyphosate, although you may need to do this more than once.

well its just that chewy louise posted a question on protection that we all thought it was an exam question. I found roundup sprayed on foliage late august gets rid of it . Well it did on a 'spare clump' of Acanthus I had.
I don't get it Myron?
