Could you identify the plant in the picture. It is about 3 ft. in height. It just appeared in the plant pot. It had small pink buds which never came out. It is an unusual plant. Thank you. I live in Manchester, England.

possibly Chenopodium rubrum 'red goose foot' . better match than mugwort anyway

Not sure but it looks like a weed to me and similar to what suddenly appears in my pots...I think seeds dropped from birds or carried by squirrels burying acorns.
