If I have had pots with annual bedding plants what do I do with them at this time of year. Do I just empty the pots for winter?

I add some slow release plant food to the 'old' compost and re-use it. As MG says, the bedding plants can go in the compost bin. Sometimes it's worth taking cuttings off a 'special' plant, e.g. Osteospermum.

Same here, too expensive to throw away..just check for Vine Weevil grubs,or other nasties, thet might have overwintered in them, and top up with a bit of new compost, and slow release plant food..I usually tip mine out,to search properly, before refilling and replanting..

Plants into your compost heap - keep the compost/soil for next year.
