Hi does anyone know why my peace lily has never flowered? Is there something I need to do? It is very healthy and the leaves are a lovely green but never another flower since the day it was given to me! thanks

I had one which constantly flowered - I watered it only with rainwater - when the compost dried out and kept it in a light but not sunny position.

The only thing I can suggest and its what I do when it stops flowering is re-pot it in the spring into fresh compost and a pot plant feed once every month normally does the trick for me

I agree with Gnarly gnorr, apparently it needs little direct light and little water. It likes a feed but if it gets too much plant food then it tends to produce all green flowers. Maybe it needs dividing when you re-pot it?

I neglect mine, only water it when I remember or when it looks droopy and only feel it about twice a year. It lives on a north windowsill and flowers freely.
Some plants don't bother flowering if they are too well looked after!

Sounds as if it has been over fed and or in is in rich/new compost. I would not feed it at all, nor would I change the compost and keep it out of direct sunlight. Yellow or wilting leaves indicate its dry but never over water, only water when the compost is dry and only enough to wet the compost to damp so that it does not sit in water.

I always think they make a reasonable substitute for an aspidistra. I've not had much luck either in getting them to flower, I can keep them alive though I certainly don't overwater. The one I have now is in a rather dark office - will think about taking it home when the builders move out.
