I'm trying to find the name of this rose

Any suggestions would be welcome. It grows to about a metre tall and wide and is unscented . It flowers profusely in June for 4-6 weeks and then again profusely in late October for 4-6 weeks with a smaller amount of flower between the two times

Thanks - Close but mine's a deeper shade of pink

I now think that my 'Rosy Cushion' was incorrectly labelled ... it is far too dark to be that variety! I do hope you find the name for yours.

My first thought was 'Marjorie Fair' but think that's slightly scented.
I have 'Rosy Cushion' Shirley bought from David Austin which you're right is much paler than this.

Thanks Simbad ... who knows what on earth I have then! :o)

Could it be Rosa Mozart?

Good suggestion but on googling "mozart" has flowers with the petals closer together than mine and flatter along the edges . The white section is also bigger in "mozart"

I spent 45 minutes googling last night and can
t find an exact match. Very frustrating

I find that you can't guarantee colour on a pc, we were looking for something and had the same website on three separate pc's/tablets and they all showed a different colour.......
We found a showroom with real life samples in the end!

It looks very much like my 'Marjorie Fair', flowers profusely too...

don't forget there may be slight variation between differing individuals that might account for slight colour differences.

Yes it does look rather like Marjorie Fair but I think the petal shape is different and the white section in the middle isn't quite the same.

I bought it as a tiny patio rose(perhaps 12 inches tall) When it finished flowering I started to plant it in the garden and realized there were 3 separate bushes in the pot.

I planted them all up and two survived. The following year they both grew to about 4 feet tall.

I wonder if they'd sprayed them with growth inhibitors. I've seen this done with chrysanthemums and one the inhibitor wears off they grow at a terrific rate of knots

It looks like my American Pillar but that is a climber. Does yours have thorns on the stems.

24 Nov, 2013

Yes it does have thorns

Mine is very similar to American Pillar but the petals seem more separated

Looks a bit like Ballerina to me though perhaps too dark a shade of pink.

I'd probably put in a bid for Rosa glauca if it has lots of hips (and was taller - do you prune it to keep it at a metre high or is that its natural height?)

24 Nov, 2013

It doesn't seem to have hips and it doesn't grow any taller than about 4 feet.

It is rather similar to Ballerina but is certainly a much darker pink. Probably a similar cultivar .

it really is one of the longest and best flowering roses I can think of and I'd love to spread it around my customer's gardens.

I tried propagating it last year without success. I'm trying again this year

Just read your first sentence and laughed... Thought that if someone had come on this site and read the first sentence they would be convinced we were talking about geriatric dwarf, LOL.
