who knows more about growing tomatoes upside down?i know the clasic way,but this one looks interesting and saving space in the greenhouse(i thought if the tomatoes hanging i still could use the ground for vegetables which dont need to climb)

You can buy tomatoes that are for hanging baskets and tumble - whether they produce a good crop or are more for fun I don't know. Remember anything growing under them is gonig to have its light obscured by the tomatoes.

possibly pouches against a wall but would you be able to supply with enough water, there are the tiny 'currant' tomatoes such as 'gartenperle' but it would be interesting to know if it works?

I don't see why them hanging down would save space, as the ordinary cordon type grow straight up and there's usually space beneath them to grow basil, lettuce or other herbs and salads. (or French marigolds to keep the white fly at bay.)
Anything hanging down would need a large pot on a shelf with all the consequent watering and feeding problems. And a hanging tomato's natural inclination would be to grow towards the light, so would probably curl round.

ive seen some plug toms today called tumbling toms but they had sold out, wanted some to try, sound good and thought they would look nice in baskets

I think they would look nice in baskets Sandra but not sure it will give Sodas any more growing space...

I found tumbling tomatoes very vigorous in tubs, need a lot of root room, in a basket it is difficult to have enough room and hard to keep them watered, you need quite a bit of space, two tubs with two plants in each filled a six foot table! upright bush take less room but I still have only 2 on the table-- cordons are easier around the walls

I grew some tumbling toms in a hanging basket last year and they were very successful. I put three plants in which were too much but two would do fine and I am going to plant some again this year. They hung outside my door and took up as much room as any other hanging basket.
