In my garden I have a courtyard which is constantly in the shade. I would like to plant something in a container that will climb to brighten up a dreary corner by my French doors. Thankyou for your help.

We have a ceonosis (not sure of the spelling) in our courtyard area. Just lift one slab & plant.
We also grow cobaea scandens in a large pot up the wall of the house (although not last year).
Another annual is Morning glory Heavenly Blue.
Along the kitchen wall we have passion flower, again in the ground by lifting a single slab.
In a large tub we have Fatsia Japonica which offers tremendous green foliage.
Also, how about hanging baskets on a stand type thingy!!! Ours has a large basket at the base, plus 3 at different heights which get planted out with trailing fuchsia, begonias etc.
