Silver Birch Shrubs

I have some silver birch shrubs between one and three years old. Some of them have have good foliage and some have which i think might be 'blight'. Their foliage is rust coloured.
Also i have 'Laurels' with green wide leaves which are disintergrating. Could you please advise me if I can do something to save these and if not do they have a preferred environment to grow in.
