Hi, I want to cut a laurel bush back which has grown to about 8 ft in a massive pot, I want to bring it back down to about 6ft. Can I do it now??

Would this be the same for a Portuguese laurels???
What is there yearly maintenance plan, many thanks for any help...
As in very large pots and worried about killing them off.. cheers..!!

Prunus lusitanica (your portuguese laurel) can be pruned at any time (its used for hedging) but its best to do it late spring early summer, so around May, especially as you have it as a specimen shrub.
