Hello,
I've searched all my gardening dictionaries and can't find this plant anywhere. I've had it for many years in the greenhouse and basically do nothing with it barely even watering and it comes into flower possibly once every five or six years ?
Hope you can help.
Regards

I know it as elephant's tongue.

No Myron, we all contribute our own little bit of knowledge. The only reason that I recognise this plant is that we were given one, I probably wouldn't have bought it.

Thanks
I did eventually find this in an old house plant book after your replies and yes it is definitely Haemanthus Amaryllidaceae - H. Albiflos
Thank again

Previous question
This is 'Haemanthus albiflos', a South African bulb, Malcolm. We were given a small bulb by a friend a couple of years ago but it hasn't flowered yet. Although a bulb, the leaves don't die down and I am advised that if it needs repotting to do this after flowering.
