Someone has advised me to put fish blood and bone on my Bay Trees which have gone brown on the tips of the leaves, as they have said the cold weather has caused this. How do I use Fish, Blood and Bone? Do I fork it into the surrounding soil or mix with water and water in? Also is it exactly what the packet describes? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I know next to nothing about gardening but would like to rescue my Bays before further damage is done

Or you could take the simple route and just buy some Phostrogen or Miracle Gro general purpose plant food, mix it up with water and water it on.

The Bay tree should be lightly watered, use 2ozs Blood,Fish and Bone plus half an ounce of sulphate of potash, mix it with a bucket full of leaf mould or manure free compost. Allow it to slack under cover for 2 or 3 days, spread that amount around each Bay tree, firm down and water in. This will avoid any root burn and the fertiliser will be ready for the plants to absorb.
