please could you advise me when is the best time to cut back me garden pinks

You shouldn't really need to cut them back, but a little tidy up at this time of year is good. Give them a good feed with bonemeal, but don't mulch them or crowd their stems or they will rot off.

Mine became stragley and poorly looking . I cut mine back to healthy growth when we had that spring weather. They look ok. Snake
