my seed potatoes are ready to plant but are very big can I cut them in half?

So long as you have at least 3 eyes on each piece go ahead and cut. If you are growing by the moon the next time you can plant potatoes is 7 - 9 April.

im with you on that one moon grower.two halves are better than one.

Cut them a day or two before planting so that the cut surface can dry and heal.

Mr MB just commented that our Maris Bard are very big seed potatoes, we will be cutting in half or even third's so long as there are two or three eyes on each piece.

when you cut a seed potato in half dip the cut surface in flour,it will stop infection getting into the spud,leave to dry then plant away
