Do you have a special gizmo for getting compost out of the large bags without spilling it all over the place, or is it just me being messy? :-)

I'm afraid that I find the bags rather heavy to lift onto the wheelbarrow (wimp) and was hoping there was a magic shovel type thing...oh well, thanks all the same Mg:-)

I have been asking myself the same question. It is messy isn't it! bags are sooooo heavy. I was thinking of getting a wheelie pull along bin type thing from homebase and asking someone to put the bag in that for me Then using a large scoop to get the compost out. The bin thing I am talking about means I wouldn't have to bend down either. I hope you know what im talking about!!! lol I will try to find you a picture.

Hi Great, it is a problem and sometimes I buy smaller bags, but they work out more expensive. What sort of scoop do you use?

A deep one. Think I may have got it from B& Q

Thankfully I don't lift the bags Mr MB does... the lifting is beyond me now.

I got a scoop for mothers day last year from the gc. they are about £1. I have also seen them in the pound shops etc. they are about the diameter of a pint pot. [if that makes sense]

I'm off to the pound shop when they open:-) Lucky you Mg:-) Thanks again all:-)

Put the bag in your wheelbarrow before you open it then it doesn't matter if some of it spills.
