Here's some of what blooms all summer in full sun in the desert:

Madagascar Periwinkle (Catharanthus roseus)
Rose Moss (Portulaca grandiflora)
Summer Snapdragon (Angelonia species)
Red-Leaf Plume Flower (Celosia plumosa 'New Look', et al.)
Garden Tickseed (Coreopsis grandiflora)
Star Custer (Pentas lanceolata)
Chinese Pink (Dianthus chinensis hybrids)
Cup Flower (Nierembergia violacea)
Golden Fleece (Thymophylla tenuiloba)
Lisianthus (Eustoma grandiflorum)
Hybrid Zinnias (Zinnia x marylandica)

Hope all that helps!

If the planting in open ground or containers will be getting watered when needed, you can pretty much choose whatever you like. If it will be drying out regularly, you may need to go for Pelargoniums (a.k.a. Zonal Geraniums), Ice plants, Mesembryanthemum cristillinum another great choice as would the excellent and underused Portulaca hybrids that thrive in full sun.
