Just wondered if anyone has tried this and can give me advice? With a wild flower meadow sloping down to our garden you can imagine the amount of "weeds" and grass we have to deal with in our vegetable beds. We had the idea to cover the beds, after harvest, with black plastic for the winter to cut down on the huge amount of heavy digging out of "weeds" before we can plant up with veggies again. Can anyone advise if this is a good idea? What are the 'cons' that we would come up against? Thanks in advance for your much needed comments. :o)

Personally I would add either compost or manure just shovel it over the tops of your beds. Ask the friendly worms to work on it over the winter months and keep them warm by adding black plastic. Job done no weeds
