Thanks to all who replied. I also have a single rose (left over from Valentines) in a glass vase of water. It has grown a fresh green shoot with small leaves - can I plant this shoot - will it grow into a rose tree and what should I do to it?

leave it in water a little longer and see if it develops roots. then pot it on and put outside so it doesnt get too hot inside. dont forget to dead head the flower.
