Edible Gardens is a new gardening prog with Alys Fowler, last night showed her ideas of mixing plants & vegatables in her typical city garden.
Did you watch it & did you like it ?
I really enjoyed it, the idea of growing food in your own garden instead of buying something that has come from the other side of the world makes alot of sense.

Yes I had to let oh watch "The business inspector" so caught up with this on demand via Virgin media.........I recall Geoff Hamilton talking about similar ideas when I first got interested in gardening & about 1986 we had the former Shelton steel works transformed into a the 2nd National garden scheme, opened by the Queen.... favourite for me was a mock cottage frontage with a rickety old picket fence the garden was crammed full plants veg all in a supposed small front garden, so full you could nearly lose yourself, the whole display was later moved to Bridgemeres Garden Centre, nothings new really is it ?

The timing of this is perfect-I'm going for veg growing on a bigger scale this year, trying to use permaculture tecniques. Really enjoyed the first one. Also reminded me of Geoff Hamilton's ornamental kitchen garden.
