Rhododendron's in clay Alkaline soils?
Im a postman so i see a lot of gardens.....How come you see them thriving on the council estates with Alkaline soils? They never feed them and its thick clay soil?

Try asking the Parks Dept at the council. I am sure that other GoYers would be interested to hear how they do it.

I'm on neutral soil so I've got my Rhodos in big plastic containers that I've sunk into the ground - fools everyone!! lol

We are on neutral soil also, Sid, and grow the rhodys directly in the soil.

We tried years ago and they didn't thrive - my neighbour has both Azaleas and Camellias in their soil with no problems.
