What did you do with them last year? If you cut the leaves off before six weeks had passed from flowering finishing, that would mean they'd be blind this year. Or if you dug them up immediately after flowering. The other cause can be being planted somewhere too dry, so the plant was unable to access nutrients to build up its stores for this year. Feed well now and for the next few weeks, till the leaves die back, with something like Miracle Gro general purpose or similar.
