Cordelyne Query

How tall should you let a Cordelyne grow? Ours is over 10 feet tall and still growing. It is 6 feet away from the house and I'm not sure if it is safe to leave. How deep are the roots and will they hold the tree up in a strong wind? Do I need to remove it for safety?

My neighbour has a Cordyline and it is about 28feet tall and we live in a very windy corner so should be okay. I always replace mine when it starts getting too tall but my latest one was too deep rooted to dig out so I sawed off the bulk and put brushweed killer on to kill the stump but I noticed the other day I have about a dozen new shoots sprouting from the base.
