Yes, that's a Sumach (Staghorn tree) and it looks fine to me - perhaps a little touch of frost or wind damage, that's all.

Excellent thank you. It's just been neglected for a few seasons from previous tennant. Some of the red stems were nearly falling off or really damaged so i removed them and pruned it back to the leg of the tree. Is this correct and will they grow back?
