Hi, I planted delosperma in my rockery last summer, I would like to know if I should have cut it back before the winter as the centre of it looks very woody. There are new shoots sprouting around it but not in the middle. Could you help please.

We don't do anything with our Delosperma. Admittedly, at the moment, it is looking very scrappy due to the hard winter that it has had to endure but, with luck, it will recover to flower nicely in summer.

Nothing you could have done about it last fall. Usually they wait 2-3 years before dying in the middle. Just now, train a few stems to cover the "bald spot"--combovers seem to work better with plants than with people! : D

How do I say thanks?
