My friends who have Cordylines in Scotland have lost them over the winter. What to do? I cut my elderly neighbour's plant back to solid stem in the hope of saving it. It would not have lasted until May when perhaps I should have cut it back.

It is really bad in Scotland I have friends in Glasgow and Edinburgh who have lost plants. The city is usually that bit warmer. Is it the same in England?
