I have grown beetroot in the same plot for the last 3 years, last year was quite a poor yield. Should I change growing area cause I think I read that somewhere

Hi George you need to look at a 3 or 4 year rotation of all your vegetables. So potatoes first year along with other roots (such as beetroot), then legumes and then brassicas if you go for a 3 year rotation.
If you grow by the moon you split your crops into those you grow for their roots, leaves, flowers and fruits. In this case you would grow roots, then fruits, then leaves then flowers.

Also separate by plant family. Don't grow tomatoes, peppers, or eggplant after potatoes, since they can get many of the same diseases. Cauliflower after cabbage is also a risk.

Yes you should. If you keep growing it in the same place they will be diseased ridden. This is why you had a poor crop. Rotation, rotation comes to mind
