Any tips as my dog is killing my grass with his wee???

Apart from getting rid of the dog, there's not much you can do, other than selecting an area and training the dog to go there (nice idea, doesn't usually work, no dog worth its salt wants to pee where its been before) or flushing the area immediately and thoroughly with the hosepipe.

My sympathies r with u on this one. Ive gravelled my lawn this year as my dog ruined it. Now tho he wont go on the gravel, he cocks his leg and does the other on my flower beds. I give up....good luck!!

there are some rocks you can get from most pet shops to add to the dog's water bowl to balance the ph of the urine to stop it from burning the grass. not sure if they work- when my brother added them to his dog's water the dog refused to drink! might be worth a try though

Train your dog to use one and only one area of the garden. Put dog on a lead and take it to the place you want (sorry dont know his/her name) it to go and give dog a biscuit and praise it when it performs. This is what I used to do. I could even open my back door and tell Magic to go toilet and she would!!! Then she would come back wagging her tail. People thought I was mad; but it works. Dogs don't know what to do and where unless we humans teach them

Sorry Bamboo dont agree with you, dont mean to be rude as I'm not like that. I have had 3 dogs 2 german sherperds that weed on command!! and one yorkshire terrier that weed in a cat litter tray as we lived in flats. Persiverance is key, plus lots of praise and a big box of doggy biscuits.

I bow to your experience then, Great - though I'll admit, they certainly will use a litter tray...

the easy way and possibly more realistic is to give the dog a run and only let him in your part when your out there keeping an eye on him.you can diswade him then.when a dog goes in the garden bye itself it will only go to relieve itself and if you make it long and slim and put cement like a path or slabs down there nails wear down instead of cutting them.the other bonus is its easy to wash down.

I find that taking my dog for regular walks stops him from weeing in the garden.

that does help dylan as thats what people in flats have to do . i have a dog flap and a concrete dog run with raised planters in it for my 5 dogs .
