I have posted 3 new photos, I need confirmation of what they are. One I found when digging a hole to sink in a pot, loads of bulbs, one growing out of another with these leaves coming out. I thought at first they were crocus very similar bulbs but much smaller.

Csarina, the bulbs in your hand are close kin to a Gladiolus, but I realise that that covers a lot of territory. Judging by their size and persistence, maybe Watsonia?

The others, unfortunately aren't anything I recognise by leaves alone.

Without looking at the pictures (sorry Dial up is so slow) I would guess that they are likley to be Crocsmia from your description. They come from strings of crocus like bulbs.
