We inherited this pond when we moved here.Any ideas on improving the area here around the pond please? Its quite shady there apart from a bit of early morning sun (if we are lucky) :)

I also think it looks lovely. You could add colour with coloured patches of gravel glass or slate, lovely blues, white pink or even red! a few coloured pots!
If you look at Shady Border Collections such as this one you can achieve gorgeous colours, foliage and long lasting displays. Bergenia Pink Dragonfly, Heuchera Purple Petticoats, Hosta Sieboldiana Elegans, Tiarella Pink Skyrocket, Heucherella Stoplight and Pulmonaria Opal Blue. One good thing is the water in the pond will like being in the shade. Dont forget to plant some spring bulbs this autumn too.

lucky you not having to build it yourself, hosta`s and ferns are lovely in shady parts,,ive just started really so no expert,,, lol pauline ;o)) im sure you will have it looking bright and cheerfull very soon claireliz

creeping jenny looks good growing over the edge . it mite be a nice place for a sculpture or a few plants in pots.

you can just pull it out easy enough to be worth growing it i think.

i didnt realise it was hardy sea,,, till it came back,, well never went really, but love the colour so will put up with it going mad, just keep taking some out
