I have received the following bulbs today, Acidanthera, Anemone De Caen, Gladioli and Sparaxis. Apart from lillies I have never planted summer flowering bulbs. Do I treat the gladioli like a begonia corm, ie hollow uppermost? The anemones look like big raisins (I have them in luke warm water at moment for 24 hours). I'm sorry if I sound thick, but I can't tell which way up to plant any of these bulbs. Many thanks

I have some anemones to plant I wanted the blue ones. Have ended up with pink ones 'Sylphide' and purple ones 'Fokker' so that will have to do lol

Gladioli have a hollow at the bottom where the roots come from (evidence of which you should be able to see, maybe a wisp or two of root), usually with a sort of ring shape in the hollow, and you can feel a slight hollow at the top, but there's usually a slightly pointy bit in the middle disguising that hollow. Most bulbs right themselves anyway, even if you do get them upside down..
