I have a 2 yr old Gooseberry Bush in a large pot. Last year it was loaded with fruit - this year it has got as far as showing leaves and fruit buds, but seems to be standing still and leaves are looking a bit limp. Any idea what could be the matter please

Rogerbee - It is not lacking in water or fertiliser, and MG the pot is 18" in dia.and 14" high. Do you think I need to put it in a bigger one ? or should I try putting in the ground. I havent a lot of ground spare really. My soil is chalky. Thank you both for helping

If you have the space I would definitely recommend planting in the ground this gives the roots of the bush space to expand and allows them to stay cooler. This is just a personal statement but I would not attempt to grow a fruit bush in any sort of pot no matter how large.

Thanks MG. I think I will have to make room for it somewhere. Have to get rid of a few things to make room. I try to grow too many things thats my trouble. But I do like my gooseberries Appreciate your comments.

It might just need some water and possibly a feed with a general purpose fertiliser.
