Root aphids
I bought some Auriculas at the weekend. When I came to pot them up I discovered thwey were riddled with root aphids. I really ought to have sent them back, but the cost and inconvenience is more than the plants are worth. I have complained to the Nursery and will plaster their name all over the Internet if I do not get an answer from them soon. However, in the meantime, I have washed the roots bare and repotted in fresh compost. This I would have done any way as I do not like the pure peat composts they use.
My question is, is there any recommended insecticide I can use to make sure the little critters are dead? As it is not a food plant I am happy to use chemicals on them.

I would have sprayed the washed roots with a general insecticide before repotting.

I did that, but I was just wondering if there was anything I could use if I missed any. It seems that Vine Weevil killer will deal with them. Not my favourite stuff, but needs must. Especially as we have found 3 vine weevils in the house, That in itself is odd as we have no indoor plants!
Will let you know how I go on. The packaging claims it is not harmful to bees now.

I heard that somewhere else today, apparently its got Imidoproclid 2 (spelling?) instead, and that's supposed to be okay for bees - don't know if its true though!
