Unknown plants - please help.
These surprise plants have grown last year (they don't even remind anything I have actually planted) and I have no idea what they are
They look very healthy and strong, and going to flower.
Please help with identifying them!

leaves are not spikey enough for a thistle. I have seen these before. I need to go away and have a think.
is it a valarian?

Don't think it's Valerian Sbg, as they have glossy leaves and these ones look fuzzy to me. Havings said that, I have no idea what it is!

I don't know what it is but I'm certain it's not Valeriana officinalis and it's not red valerian either.

It looks like a species of edelweiss--probably not the famous one! I've found it difficult to find images of different leontopodiums. It seems like no matter what species I look for, I always get pictures of Leontopodium alpinum! Oh, well.
