after having brought my Trachycarpus out of the greenhouse for the spring some of the leaves have yellowed slightly at the tips. Any suggestions to the reason for this ?

On plant Trachycarpus fortunei

If they're lower ones ,they could be starting to die off, which is normal. Otherwise, its probably just from the winter. If the rest of the plant is healthy and growing, then its fine.
